There are times in life when it seems that circumstances will overwhelm and swallow us whole. Have you noticed that nobody seems to talk about the “downside” to becoming a mom? Have you been blindsided by emotions like depression, anxiety, guilt, and shame or obsessive thoughts and feel like you are alone in the way you feel? Do you look at other moms and think “why does it come so easy to her, when it is so hard for me?” Are you faking being okay, while inside if feels like your life has come apart?
I use a person centered approach to therapy, offering a humanistic and judgement-free environment, to facilitate the inner strength needed for personal growth. I help moms find a new path in motherhood and regain some of the joy that becoming a mom was supposed to bring.
I understand your needs and I’m here to travel with you on your journey. Some of the issues I have helped moms, moms-to-be and expectant/new parents work on in counseling and family therapy: anxiety in pregnancy, recovering from postpartum depression and anxiety disorders. I’d be happy to schedule a free phone assessment to evaluate your personal needs.
